Youth Weekend Mission Trip
Grace youth head to St. Louis August 8-10
The high school mission trip will be to St. John's Church across the street from magnificent Tower Grove Park, which was given to the city by Henry Shaw, an Episcopalian. He also provided the better-known Shaw's Garden in St. Louis and left money for the flower festival at the Cathedral.
Some of the activities the missioners may have to look forward to are transforming a weed patch into a play area for young children, painting and doing other fix up tasks, fixing breakfast and lunch together at the church, having dinner at nearby ethnic restaurants, praying Compline at the church or in the park, sleeping in the Parish Hall and attending church with St. John parishioners Sunday morning. Before returning home, the group will have an outing of their choice, perhaps to the zoo, a museum, or the science center. They will leave Friday morning and return late Sunday afternoon.
