What Is Year Round Stewardship
New approach to stewardship explained
Stewardship is not a once-a-year venture, an annual pledge drive, but an on-going, permanent part of the life and mission of Grace Church. Stewardship is first and foremost a subject for prayer and reflection. A year round stewardship effort will strengthen and support us in understanding our roles as God’s stewards.
One important component of this approach to stewardship is that it compels us to incorporate stewardship principles fully into our worship and our celebration of the liturgical seasons. This practice can help us to see that stewardship is about how we live our entire lives, not just about what money (excuse the dirty word) we might decide to give to the church. Reaching such an understanding will encourage us to participate more actively in defining Grace’s ministries and to find our own calling in those ministries.
Finally, lest you think there will be no pledging or talk about money (that dirty word, again) in this approach, year round stewardship will also provide us with an opportunity to make specific decisions about our involvement in ministry through an annual pledge of our time, talent and financial resources. Please attend the Ministry Fair on Sunday, September 7, to learn more.
