El Puente kids visit Runge

"Snakes really are very nice."

The El Puente students being mentored this summer by Grace youth and others took a field recent trip to the Runge Center to learn more about the natural world and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful weather.  Becca, one of the Grace mentors, was wearing one of her other volunteer hats that day as a Runge Center staffer.  She showed the kids that snakes are really--well, quite nice after all.  Johnny, one of our other mentors, accompanied the students.  From all reports, not only the field trip but the entire mentoring experience was rewarding for both mentors and students, and El Puente staffers were extravagant in their praise of Grace's mentors.
